The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) is a government agency established in 2005 (amended in 2007) to ensure effective traffic management and road safety, including monitoring motorists and other road users on major traffic corridors.
TRACE operates with a core mandate to prevent road accidents, enforce road regulations, and foster a disciplined driving culture among motorists, commercial drivers, and pedestrians.
With a zero-tolerance policy for road obstruction, the agency is committed to keeping roads free from illegal parking, abandoned vehicles, and other forms of impediments that disrupt smooth traffic flow. TRACE also plays a vital role in public education, organizing awareness campaigns, and training programs to sensitize road users on best driving practices and road safety measures.
Beyond enforcement, TRACE is actively involved in traffic monitoring, emergency response services, and collaborations with law enforcement agencies to ensure swift intervention in cases of accidents or road crises. By leveraging technology, community engagement, and strategic policy implementation, TRACE continues to uphold its mission of making Ogun State’s roads safer, more efficient, and accessible for all.
Our Mission

- To inject order and control mechanisms into road traffic systems within the state through modern global best practice.
- To perform such other regulatory functions as may be duly assigned by the state government within the laws that set it up.
- To deploy TRACE officers and men who are well trained, organized, and highly motivated to discharge his or her constitutional roles professionally in this modern technological age.
