TRACE TRAFFIC ADVISORY.

In view of the ongoing reconstruction work at Onigbedu Junction, inbound Ibese Road, and the resulting obstruction to smooth traffic flow along the stretch, TRACE has implemented a temporary traffic diversion scheduled to commence on Monday, 1st December, 2025, to reduce congestion and allow construction teams unrestricted access to the failing portions of the road. This measure has become necessary to ease the gridlock that has persisted around the axis and to minimize travel delays, especially during this intensified phase of the project.

Consequently, motorists heading to Ibese from Papalanto corridor are advised to proceed straight through Ilaro to link Ibese, while vehicles transiting from Abeokuta towards Ibese are to divert through Ita-Oshin–Oke-Ata to continue their journey. These alternative routes have been mapped out to ensure better traffic circulation and prevent avoidable standstills as work progresses on the affected section.

The diversion is aimed at averting unnecessary delays, particularly those caused by potential vehicle obstruction along the construction zone and to mitigate the impact on other road users as we approach the peak festive traffic period.

TRACE sincerely regrets any inconveniences arising from this temporary rerouting and assures the general public, particularly the motoring public of continued, round the clock traffic management along all designated corridors.

Many Thanks.
