A serious crash involving an overturned cement truck which caught fire around City of Knowledge axis, along the Ijebu-Ode/Benin-Ore Expressway has been reported.
Unfortunately, the crash in question has led to obstruction and attendant heavy traffic on both inbound and outbound sections of the Sagamu-Benin/Ore Expressway,
Consequently, the following alternative routes are advised for in-coming motorists navigating their way towards the inbound and outbound sections of the Expressway.
✓ Traffic coming from Lagos to the Eastern part of the country are advised to go through Lagos-Epe Expressway and link up @ Faari in Ijebu-Ode and continue there journey from there.
✓ Traffic from Sagamu to Ijebu-Ode should go through Ilishan-Ago/Iwoye Road and continue there journey from there.
✓ Traffic coming from Eastern part of the country to Lagos should go through Ijebu-Ode/Epe Expressway to get to Lagos.
Nevertheless, while TRACE, the Police and FRSC officials are presently on ground controlling traffic to restore orderliness and ensure prompt evacuation of the damaged trucks, motorists already trapped in traffic are implored to be patient, cautious, considerate and cooperate with traffic managers in their endeavour to normalize traffic flow.
Besides, the CBC Construction Company has also been contacted to open up the diversion route in order to ease off the resultant traffic backlog.
However, any inconveniences is highly regretted.
Many thanks.
